Therapy Programs

DSAW Fox Cities introduces a fresh grant initiative aimed at supporting families in covering the costs of speech and/or occupational therapy services that aren't covered by insurance. This initiative replaces our prior Summer Speech Program, which faced staffing challenges with previous providers, hindering our ability to maintain contracts. The new grant offers increased flexibility, empowering families to choose the timing and location of therapy sessions for their children.

Here are the details of the Therapy Grant:

• The grant will offer up to $800 per individual per calendar year.
• It is specifically designed to assist individuals with Down Syndrome in accessing speech therapy and/or occupational therapy.
• Prior to applying for the grant, families should first submit the treatment plan to their relevant insurance providers, if applicable.
• Grants will be allocated on a "first come, first served" basis until the allocated budget of DSAW Fox Cities is exhausted.
• Eligible individuals must be active members* of DSAW Fox Cities.

Application Process:
1. Undergo evaluation with a licensed therapist in Wisconsin.
2. If therapy is denied by insurance, apply for the grant through the Google form below.
3. Grant approval or denial will be communicated within one week of submission.

Payment Guidelines:

• All grant requests must be for actual expenses already incurred.
• Receipts of expenses must be submitted within 30 days of the billing statement date.
• Reimbursement checks will be issued to the guardian/parent.
• In cases of financial need, where applicable, DSAW Fox Cities may directly pay the vendor. However, approval for such cases must be sought in advance.

*Active member is defined by any DSAW Fox Cities family that actively participates in our chapter events, programs and/or fundraising.
