DSAW Connects: Statewide Fall 2022 - Spring 2023 Programs Schedule and Sections

Zoom Zumba
Tuesdays from 5pm-6pm
This fitness sensation combines Latin and international rhythms to produce a workout that is both fun and effective! Our friend and certified Zumba instructor at Dance Life Studio, Nita, will lead us through a 60-minute session with easy to follow steps and upbeat music that might even make you forget that you are exercising! More a party than a chore, getting in shape with Zumba is appropriate for individuals at all levels of fitness. Please ensure that you have plenty of space to move around, that you are wearing the appropriate footwear, comfortable clothing and that you have water. Please ensure that you keep hydrated.

Join us for a virtual “hangout” to stay connected with your friends! Tweens 14+ and self advocates are invited to hang out with us virtually on Wednesdays. We play games, Kahoots, and build friendships!

Let's Talk About Rights
Wednesdays 7:30pm - 8:30pm
This free offering for participants age 16 and over is designed to build an understanding of our basic rights as we transition to adulthood and continue to build indepence. This class will discuss the importance of a variety of topics like freedom of expression, privacy, daily planning and grater control in education, employment and independent living. Self-advocates will determine why each right is important and what those in our support networks can do to help insure these rights.

The Living Well Project Safe & Free classes are designed to hep youth and adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) learn about the important topics and skills for self-advocacy and independent living. Participants will learn about themselves, their communities, and other topics like safety and communication. This class if for participants 18+

Prenatal Diagnosis Group
A completely non-judgmental support group for women who have recently received a prenatal Down Syndrome diagnosis and wish to seek personal support. The group is for women in various stages of their pregnancy and decision-making journey. We welcome everyone, regardless of any decisions made, to attend our judgment-free group. Join us as we gather to provide support and share our experiences.
